Humanities Quote

This quote reminded me of humanities:

There is only one thing a philosopher can be relied upon to do, and that is to contradict other philosophers.

William James

I’ll try and write out my thoughts of this quote later, cause the first time didn’t work.

Charis,

Contest! (05.11.06)

Here’s the contest:

You must decipher the meaning of the sentence that ensues shortly. You must post your answer on a comment, and you may “cheat” by using ideas from a previous contestant, however they must be able to be differentiated. I will be the sole judge all entries, and will decide who wins. The winner will get [a prize determined by myself at a future date].

Good Luck:

“Vivacious and Vicarious, Vampires Vent Venom Vestigially, and Vagarious Vacuums Vacillate Vagabonds Vividly to Validate Valentine’s Valuable Vegetables.”

Let the contest begin!

I’ma Goin’ Home!

YaY! I'm going home in about 14 hours! Finally, another break!

Yesterday (Tuesday) was Wonderful Wednesday's Terrific Tuesday, a local Milligan holiday where all the classes are canceled for a day of random themed fun. It was good stuff, we floated with the Egyptians.

Here is a quote from Kenney Suit, my Prof. for Film & TV Aesthetics (he was reading off the events scheduled for Terrific Tuesday): "Nude Inflatable Twister" (he meant to say "new" instead of nude).

Had a great time with friends, played Apples to Apples (great game!). Participated in the Obsticle Course where I had to swim across the Buffalo Creek and pie myself in the face with whipped cream and baked beans (ew!). Our team did good, however, we missed it by 5 seconds. Then we went down a giant slip 'n slide (fun!).

Later, I took Alli out shopping for an Easter outfit. I was able to help her find something, but she decided not to get it, even though she did say that it looked decent.

All in all, it was a good break, however, I don't know how to handle this insanity of papers galore!

Ah!

Charis,

April Fool’s Day

So my April Fool's Day was extremely lacking of pranks…which saddens me. Why couldn't I get pranked or prank someone myself?

I have been asking many questions lately, like who am I? will I make it through the rest of the semester (and still pass)? will I have a work-study position next semester?

However, I have a new question to ask myself.

Where in the world is my roommate?

I have not seen my roommate since Acts class on friday, after which he ran out without telling anyone goodbye. He never mentioned to me that he was leaving for the weekend, because I have not seen him here at all during the nights, and there have been no signs of his return during the day. Its a puzzling enigma.

Another puzzling enigma is the fact that a freakin' car show shuts down the main strip of Elizabethton this weekend…I was never informed of this fact, and got stuck in it for almost half an hour to journey two blocks to the local movie theater. Insanity.

I went and saw Ice Age 2 with Alli, Bailey and Ashley. It was soooo funny. Laughter throughout the whole thing.

Walmart run for more BS, brown sugar that is.

A random (maybe not so random…) quote from Alli when we got back to Milligan:

"Mr. Goad, if we die, when we go to heaven I am going to tell God that it was your fault, and that I told you to behave." -Alli, while I was swerving on Milligan's campus roads to scare her.

We began reading the Chronicles of Narnia tonight (Miss Alli the Uncultured has never read them before!). So we got through five chapters of The Magician's Nephew!

Daylight Savings Time means to spring forward one hour = a loss of sleep.

Charis,
